How to Start Therapy at Weiss Wellness?

Your Path to Healing Begins Here

1

Book a Free 15-Minute Consultation

Reach out through our website, by phone, or by email. We’ll schedule a quick call to understand what you’re looking for, answer your questions, and help you decide if we’re the right fit.

2

Complete Your Intake Paperwork

Once you decide to move forward, we’ll send over your intake forms. Please complete them at least 24 hours before your first session so your therapist has time to review everything in advance.

3

Attend Your 60-Minute Intake Session

Your first full session is 60 minutes and focuses on understanding your history, goals, and what’s bringing you in. For minors, this session typically happens with parents first.

4

Begin Ongoing 45-Minute Therapy Sessions

From there, ongoing sessions are 45 minutes. We’ll work together to build a treatment plan that fits your goals, and adjust it as you grow.

Mental Health Concerns We Help With

We work with clients navigating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges; offering tailored support for each concern.

Anxiety
therapy

Constant worry, racing thoughts, and panic can make everyday life exhausting. We use CBT and DBT to help you identify anxiety triggers, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build tools to calm your nervous system in real time.

Depression
therapy

When communication breaks down, it feels like speaking different languages. We help couples reconnect, rebuild trust, and create a relationship that feels safe, honest, and fulfilling.

Eating Disorder
therapy

Disordered eating and negative body image can affect your physical and emotional health in ways that feel hard to break alone. We offer specialized therapy that addresses both the thoughts and behaviors around food, working alongside dietitians and physicians when needed.

Grief & Loss
Counseling

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it rarely looks the way others expect it to. We provide a steady space to process your loss, work through complicated emotions, and rebuild meaning in a life that looks different now.

Trauma
therapy

Past experiences can show up as anxiety, avoidance, difficulty trusting, or physical tension you can’t explain. We use a combination of talk therapy, somatic work, and evidence-based trauma methods to help you process what happened at your own pace.

Life Transitions &
Adjustment Support

Starting college, becoming a parent, changing careers, or retiring – every transition brings its own uncertainty. We help you make sense of what’s changing, identify what you actually want from this next chapter, and build a plan to get there.

Emotional Regulation &
Relationship Patterns

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it rarely looks the way others expect it to. We provide a steady space to process your loss, work through complicated emotions, and rebuild meaning in a life that looks different now.

Parenting Support &
Family Therapy

Parenting today comes with pressures previous generations didn’t face. We work with parents individually and with families together, helping you set boundaries, improve communication, and navigate challenges like anxiety, screen time, and adolescent struggles.

Postpartum & Maternal
Mental Health

The months after having a baby can bring anxiety, low mood, and an identity shift no one prepared you for. We support new mothers through evidence-based therapy and, when appropriate, mom-focused community groups like our postpartum stroller sessions.

Our Therapy Approach:
Evidence-Based & Integrative Methods psychological

We utilize scientifically validated therapies like CBT, EMDR, and exposure therapy to effectively treat anxiety, trauma, OCD, and mood disorders.

Our clinical assessments guide personalized treatment plans focused on measurable outcomes and lasting change.

Some conversations flow better outside a traditional office. Walk & Talk therapy combines movement with traditional talk therapy – reducing stress, encouraging openness, and giving sessions a different kind of energy when you need it.

Not every emotion can be put into words, especially for kids, teens, and trauma survivors. Art therapy uses creative expression as a way to access feelings, process experiences, and communicate what’s hard to say directly.

Stress and trauma don’t just live in your mind, they show up in your body as tension, fatigue, or chronic tightness. Somatic work helps you notice these physical patterns and release them, often in ways traditional talk therapy can’t reach alone.

Who We Help? Therapy for Every Stage of Life

Therapy for Children & Teens

From middle school through high school, adolescence brings its own set of pressures. Academic stress, social dynamics, social media, friendships, identity, and the pressure of applying to colleges. We help young clients build the skills and confidence to navigate it all.

Therapy for Adults

Adulthood brings its own layers – career pressure, relationships, self-worth, burnout, and everything life throws in between. We help you untangle what’s weighing you down and build the tools to move forward with more clarity.

Therapy for Parents & Families

Parenting is rewarding, but it’s also one of the hardest roles to navigate without support. We work with parents and families through communication challenges, emotional struggles, and the everyday realities of raising kids today.

Therapy for
Individuals in the Retirement Phase

Retirement is a transition that doesn’t get talked about enough. We support individuals stepping into this chapter, figuring out purpose, identity, relationships, and what comes next after a lifetime of work.

Therapy for Young Adults & College Students

The years between 18 and 25 come with major shifts, managing independence, college life, identity, relationships, and the transition into the workforce. We support young adults through the emotional and practical challenges of this stage.
